A few CVS & Walgreens Tips

If you don't have time to cut and print coupons, there are a few easily accessible coupons around CVS and Walgreens you can take advantage of.

At CVS there is a coupon book called "ReadyFill." You can get this coupon book by asking the pharmacy about "ReadyFill." It is a new prescription program they have right now. It looks like this:
There are several great coupons you can use, including TWO $4 off $20 purchase. It's real easy to spend $20 :)

Extra Tip: Use this coupon on items that produce Extra Care Bucks to make your transaction that much more awesome!!

At Walgreens, they have 2 coupon books. 1 - Back-to-School booklet found at the front of the store, near the ads. They have tons of coupons in this booklet that you can use WITH all your manufacturer coupons. This book is FREE!! And 2 - Walgreens Children's Activity Book found where all the coloring books are. This book is $.99, but is WELL worth it.

SO...if you don't have time to cut coupons but want to get some great deals, check out these coupon booklets.

Kroger Mega Event - $.87 Profit

I got all this for $1.93. BUT, a couple of my eCoupons didn't come off, so I emailed the company about it. And as a courtesy to me for the "inconvenience," they put $2.80 back on my Kroger card. (I lucked out on that one) So the next time I go grocery shopping, that amount will come off my final total.

In essence, I made $.87 to purchase all this stuff :)

Free Victoria's Secret Lotion

Go visit Victoria's Secret, bring in THIS COUPON, and get a free 1 oz. bottle of body lotion. (no purchase necessary) Offer good through 9/7/09.

*these would make great stocking stuffers*

Also, let me just say something...kinda warn you. I was getting my mail the other day, and noticed something on top of the trash. It was a Victoria's Secret mail out, with the FREE PANTY offer. I get these every now and then. But someone actually just chunked this in the trash. So what did I do? I picked it up and redeemed it! Yay!

This is not the first time this has happened to me. I found a Kroger catalina for "1 Free Pack of Trident Gum" on the ground in the parking lot. So I got free gum out of picking that cataline off the ground.

So, just beware! Always check your receipts and CRT (cash register tape) for free items and check ALL your mail. You never know when or where might find some goodies! :)

Cheap Meal - $.50 per serving

Now, I'm not a cook, but I do try. I thought I would break down the cost of everything to show you how cheap you can eat at home vs. going out to eat.

Chicken Thighs (4ct) - $1.10 (Bought on manager's special, and used $1 coupon) = $0.28 each

Knorr Rice (2.5 servings)
- $0.10 = $0.04 per serving

Roll (12ct) - $1.00 (Bought on manager's special) = $0.08 each

Carrots - ~$0.10

Total for this meal was $.50. So Brian and I can eat for $1.00 total. Had we gone out to eat, would could easily spend $20...depending on the restaurant. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it was :) Any left over meat, I will make into chicken soup later on in the week.
