Kroger Mega Event, Day 3 (Saved 92.79%)

I was needing some "breakfast foods" and I remembered there was a deal on Sausage for the Mega Event, so I thought I'd head over to Kroger one last time for a quick transaction. BOY was I wrong! I found a killer deal, so I made it harder than my trip was supposed to be!

Here is what happened:
Lah-dee-dah-dee-dah...walking through the store quickly...ready to go. Oh - here's an endcap for the mega event. $1.00 for the Propel water, but $.50 when you buy 10, WITH $.55 MFQs attached to them. So each water was -$.05!!! Of course you don't have to get 10, but getting 10 bottles at -$.05 each yielded me -$.50, only to come off of another item.

Hence:

Transaction #1:
10 Propel - $1.00 each
- (10) $.55 MFQ

1 Dozen Eggs - $.99

- $5.00 Mega Event

Total OOP - $.45
********************************************
Transaction #2:
10 Propel - $1.00 each
- (10) $.55 MFQs

3 Sausage Patties - $1.25 each

1 Dole Fruit - $1.99
- $.50 MFQ (doubled to $1.00)

1 Activia Yogurt - $1.99
- $1.00 MFQ

- (2) $.50/2 MFQs

1 BC Potato Pouch - $1.00
- $.40 MFQ

- $5.00 Mega Event x 2 ($10.00 bc I bought 20 items)

Total OOP - $1.98
********************************************
I bought $33.72 worth of groceries.
Grand Total OOP - $2.43
I saved 92.79%

**Thank you hubby for setting the picture up! I appreeshitate it!**

Walgreens & Target Trip - Profit $30.04

Wow I totally scored at Walgreens today – I am SO excited!

I had some RRs expiring today, so I thought I’d run by and do a couple transactions so I could roll over my RRs. But I ended up doing WAY more than expected. All thanks to 2 wonderful cashiers WHO ARE AWESOME!!

2 Theraflu @ $5.00/ea ($3.00 RR wyb 2)
2 travel Pantene @ $1.29/ea ($2.00 wyb 2) – travel size is not excluded from this deal!
1 Dulcolax @ $7.00 ($4.00 RR wyb 1)
1 Sunflower Seeds @ $1.50 (I was going to use 2 RRs, BUT this was supposed to be $1.99, so that threw off my math. I didn’t want to deal with it, so I just saved the other RR and paid a little more OOP)

Coupons Used:
-(2) $2.00 Theraflu printables
-$2.00 WAGS Theraflu coupon (took off $4.00)
-$1/2 Pantene (coupon did not exclude travel size)
-$3.00 Dulcolax (I had a printable, but there is also a $3.00 MFQ right on the bottle)
-$8.00 RR

Total OOP - $1.78
Got back - $2.00 RR, $3.00 RR, $4.00 RR
Will submit for the $5.00 Mail in Rebate for buying 1 Dulcolax

Coupons Used:
-$1/2 Pantene (coupon did not exclude travel size)
-$2.00 RR

Total OOP - $.03
Got back - $2.00 RR
Total Profit - $1.97
************************************************
Before I did these transactions, 1 of the cashiers who was on her lunch break did an Almay makeup transaction. All week the Almay makeup is “buy 1, get 1 50% off. Now, I had heard and read that there was a glitch in the programming, and the makeup was actually ringing up “buy 1, get 1 FREE.” I thought “surely corporate would have this fixed by Thursday.” So I didn’t even bother worrying about doing this deal. Well, after I saw the cashier do it, I asked about it, and she said that they were still ringing up B1G1FREE!! So…I decided to partake! AND…they had MFQs for me to use! Hehe

Here’s how it went:
Transaction #3:
4 Almay Mascara @ $6.99 each
2 Almay Pure Blends Foundation @ $9.99 each

-2 B1G1Free Mascara @ $6.99 each (the register automatically took these off)
-1 B1G1Free Foundation @ $9.99
-Used (6) $1.00 MFQs
-$4.00 Almay 1 coat Mascara WAGS coupon (found at front of store – took off $16.00)

Total OOP - $1.05
Got back - $10.00 RR
Total Profit - $8.95
************************************************
I was SO excited about all this (essentially) FREE makeup + profit! So I called my mom, told her and asked her if she wanted me to get her some. And of course, she said YESSssssssssssss!!! Therefore…transaction #4 –

I asked the cashier if she had anymore MFQs for me to use, and she only had 3. Bummer. BUT – I was doing some calculations, AND with the B1G1Free sale, and the $4.00 WAGS coupon for EACH mascara purchased, it’s like I would get -$.50 for each mascara purchased. So to compensate for the lack of MFQs, I just purchased more mascara.

Transaction #4:
6 Almay Mascara @ $6.99 each
2 Almay Pure Blends Foundation @ $9.99 each

-3 B1G1Free Mascara @ $6.99 each (the register automatically took these off)
-1 B1G1Free Foundation @ $9.99
-Used (3) $1.00 MFQs
-$4.00 Almay 1 coat Mascara WAGS coupon (found at front of store – took off $24.00)
-$1.00 RR & $2.00 RR

Total OOP - $1.04
Got back - $10.00 RR
Total Profit - $8.96
************************************************
Target Transaction #1:
4 Archer Farms Desserts - $.99 each
2 Windex - $2.54 each
2 Scrubbing Bubbles - $2.54 each

Coupons Used:
-(4) $1.00 off AF desserts (adjusted to $.99)
-(2) $.55 Windex MFQ
-$2.00 off 2 Scrubbing Bubbles
-$5.00 Target GC wyb 4 Windex/SC products

Total OOP - $7.06
Got back - $5.00 Target GC
************************************************
GRAND TOTALS FOR TODAY’S WALGREENS & TARGET TRIP!!

Total OOP - $10.96
Remaining RRs - $31.00 + $5.00 MIR (plus the $5.00 Target GC)
Total Profit - $30.04
**Now this should be interesting trying to get rid or roll over my $31.00 in RRs**

Make Money Selling Books!!

Sell Used Books Online - Quick Cash, Free Shipping, Free Quotes!
Well I think Christmas season has officially started.

I heard on the radio that stores and malls are putting up Christmas decorations and sales EARLY this year in hopes to bring in a little more profit. Sales are down and they want people to BUY!!

So here's a quick and easy way to make a little extra money for the Christmas season!

One of the ways I make a little extra cash on the side is selling my old textbooks...and books in general. Between my husband and myself, we have a lot of books that frankly - need to be gone! You could sell them on Craiglist or Ebay, BUT there is a better website - Cash4Books.net.

The site is very simple! You just go and enter the ISBN #s, then you can see how much Cash4Books.net will pay for the book, or even if they aren't buying it at all. Some of my older college books that I thought I would get nothing out of, I ended up getting around $5.00 for. Hey! Better than nothing!

One of the best things about Cash4Books.net is, they pay for shipping! Unlike Craigslist, Amazon and Ebay where you pay for shipping out of pocket - Cash4Books.net has a shipping label you can print directly from their website!

AND - they deposit the money into your bank account VERY quickly.

I have had TONS of success from using Cash4Books.net, received a good amount of cash back, AND de-cluttered my closet! Yay for getting rid of old textbooks and unused books!
