My mom and I did some shopping on Friday, and right next to the store was a Bakery Outlet. I have ALWAYS wanted to go inside and see what kind of deals they have. So we went inside and this is what I got:
(2) 8ct large flour tortillas - $.85 each
(3) 12ct flour tortillas - $.85 each
(1) 36ct corn tortillas - $.85
Bimbo Wheat Bread - $.78
Mrs. Baird’s 8ct Honey Wheat Burger Buns - $.78
Mrs. Baird’s 8ct Honey Wheat HotDog Buns - $.78
(1) Original English Muffins 6ct - FREE
**when you buy $6.00 worth of items, you get an item for FREE**
My total for all this was $6.34
I went to a Mrs. Baird’s bread outlet, and they also have a card program. For every $30 in purchases, you get a FREE bread AND a FREE snack cake. So lots of free stuff to be had. I already have $6.00 marked off my card!
This store also had cookies, chips, snacks, etc. So it's not JUST bread!!
I went to Kroger to price some of these items to see if it was really worth it, even with coupons. Sometimes I just don’t want to use coupons, take the time to cut them out or search for deals. Sometimes I don’t have the time or patience to keep making homemade bread…and tortillas. ☺ If this is you – you might consider finding your local bakery outlet to score some great deals. AND - even with coupons, I don't think I would have gotten my total so low.
At Kroger, these items would have cost me (I looked up both the name brand and the Kroger Value brand and listed the lowest price):
Large Tortillas - $2.49 each
Tortillas - $1.49 each
Corn Tortillas - $.89 (for the 30ct)
Bread - $.78
Burger & HotDog Buns - $.88 each
English Muffins - $1.89
= $14.77
So by shopping at this Outlet, I saved $8.43...and the hassle (I mean joy) of dealing with coupons :)
What’s great is DUH-the price, plus I got some name brand, wheat items.
So if you have a bakery outlet near you, I would suggest making a run for it!!
