Financial Friday - the Restaurant.com how to...

Brian and I try to eat at home most of the time, but every now and then we get the itch to "go out." One of the ways we save is of course, using coupons. I have mentioned Restaurant.com before, but have you ever wondered how it REALLY works?

Brian and I tested it out and took pictures to prove that it does work, and you CAN save money going out to eat!!

Here’s how to do it:

1) Go to Restaurant.com and enter your zip code to locate a restaurant

2) Find a restaurant you like. Before you purchase, read the exclusions

**Most restaurants have “you must spend $35.00; excludes alcohol; 18% gratuity added before coupon, etc” Regardless, it’s still a great deal!**

It’s actually really hard for my family of TWO to spend $35.00. But when we have kids, we will use these coupon offers. Restaurant.com has Gameworks and Incredible Pizza, so when we have birthday parties for our kids, we will use these coupons!

Without any special offers, here’s what you can get:

Buy a $25.00 gift certificate for $10.00

Buy $35.00 worth of food & use the $25.00 GC

Pay $10.00 total

So basically you get $35.00 worth of food for ONLY $20.00!! (including what you paid for the gift certificate itself)

Here’s what Brian and I did:

We purchased a $25.00 GC to Red Barn BBQ in Colleyville for $10.00.

We bought a little over $35.00 worth of food. Look at what all we got!!
